PERUGIA – Another friendly match for Sir Safety Conad Perugia.
Tomorrow afternoon, starting at 6 PM, the Block Devils will be playing in the PalaBianchini, in Latina, for a joint training with Top Volley, one of the black-and-whites’ opponents in SuperLega.
After last Wednesday’s test in Tuscania, a new test for coach Castellani’s guys. They will facing a stronger opponent, Latina, a team coached by Camillo Placì (absent in this phase since he is Nikola Grbic’s vice coach for the Serbian national team and with his vice Marco Franchi standing in for him). This team is almost complete, with only some absentees: Sket, outside hitter, and Yosifov, middle blocker, both busy respectively with the Slovenian and Bulgarian national teams.
Everybody else is available in the Pontine team, so they should be starting the training with Bonifante, setter, Russian Pavlov (the cream of Top Volley’s trades) as opposite, Rossi and Mattei in the middle, former Block Devils player Gabriele Maruotti and young Ferenciac (born in 1996) in zone 4, Romiti as libero. Krumins, second setter, Hirsch second opposite and outside hitter Tailli will also be available.
Just like three days ago in Tuscania, “inevitable” formation for Daniel Castellani, between absentees due to commitments with their national teams and Birarelli still unavailable. He will send in again the diagonal Dimitrov-Tzioumakas, Elia and Franceschini in zone 3, Holt and Goran Maric (with the black-and-white team in this phase) as outside hitters and the libero couple Giovi – Fanuli.
The Argentinean coach is expecting other good confirmations from the second test of the season. Castellani, who will, once again, turn the screw on his team today with a double training session, wants to see again the right spirit and the right aggressiveness. Under a technical and tactical point of view, the Block Devils will try to put into practice what they tried in training, especially in offense.
The test in Latina will put an end to the fifth week of Sir’s training. Next week they will have the first tests in the PalaEvangelisti on Wednesday afternoon against Siena and the return match against Latina on Saturday afternoon. Both engagements will start around 4.30 PM and they will be the first occasions, for Sir’s supporters, to see the Block Devils in action in the 2015-2016 version.
