After the fantastic evening we had last Sunday in Trento, the Perugia sports facility is getting ready to host another great event of men’s volleyball. On Sunday afternoon coach Castellani’s Sir Safety Conad Perugia will be facing Lube Civitanova.
Without a doubt it’s one of the most important games in this fifth day of SuperLega. It’s a contest between two teams packed with champions and international stars, a challenge between two squads that are at the top end of the league and with great ambitions this season.
Coach Castellani and his guys were in the PalaEvangelisti this morning, after the victorious mid week game in Forlì. The atmosphere is calm, but they are already quite concentrated for the next appointment, a very delicate and important match in SuperLega. During these last two days, the Argentinean coach will work mostly on some technical team dynamics and on serve, because causing Lube some problems on the second line would allow Perugia to get organized against their fearsome attacking opponents.
At the same time, Castellani’s technical staff is meticulously studying Civitanova under the tactical profile, to update the black-and-white coach with any useful details and suggestions.
Vice coach Carmine Fontana, part of Castellani’s technical staff, presents Perugia-Civitanova, Sunday’s super match in the PalaEvangelisti:
«We’ll get to the big match against Lube with our team which, after a bad start caused by the little work done together, did well over the past weeks. We are trying to build our own identity, of a team that has the will to play intensely and vigorously, that wants to defend. Under this point a view, the match against Civitanova will be a difficult testing ground because in front of us we will have a top quality team. Players like Juantorena, Stankovic, Podrascanin, but in general all the members of the team from the Marches. So we will be under pressure, even in this occasion we will have to overcome the difficult moments and react, besides intensity, with our quality. Certainly the guys have the will and pleasure of playing this kind of games, and this is why we are all here».
Fontana, an acquired citizen of Perugia since he is at his fifth season with Sir Safety Conad, knows what could be a little advantage on Sunday for the Block Devils:
«It’s true, I think that on Sunday we will have a little advantage, which is having our public to support us. Even last Sunday against Trento it helped us a lot and we should be good at fomenting and inciting it with our game».
