PERUGIA STARTS ITS PREPARATION FOR SUNDAY’S CONTEST AGAINST MOLFETTA

Perugia (PG) -

PERUGIA – Sir Safety Conad Perugia was back in the PalaEvangelisti this morning!

Coach Castellani’s team went back to the sports facility with its third place in ranking. The results of the seventh day of the first leg (only match yet to be played is Verona-Padova, but it will not affect Perugia’s ranking) put the Block Devils in third place of SuperLega for now, behind Civitanova, first, and Modena.

What helped Perugia’s ranking is Trento’s defeat against an excellent Molfetta. However, the latter will be captain Buti and his teammates’ next opponent, on Sunday, November 29th, in the PalaEvangelisti.

Castellani and his staff are projected on Sunday and this morning they started the preparation for the match against Gulinelli’s Pugliese team. Exprivia is truly the wonder of this initial phase of the season, with a very high technical level. In fact, with the three points achieved yesterday, now has 13 and it’s right behind the “big” teams and with just two points less than Sir. So Castellani and his guys will have to do their very best to win against a team that this year has already beaten the Italian champions of Trento and pushed Modena and Verona to a tie break.

This morning the Block Devils were all available, with Andrea Giovi, although with the necessary precautions, also back at work after a small injury. Castellani gave the guys a day off and this reinvigorated them. They are ready for another hectic interval that will start this Sunday, November 29th, and end on Tuesday, December 22nd, with Perugia playing 8 games.

The trick is to face a match at a time, so all the attention now goes to Molfetta, to the talent and physical charge of the Cuban duo Hierrezuelo-Hernandez and the solid personality of coach Gulinelli’s group. And the attention also goes to the former Perugia player, Rocco “Veleno” Barone: it’s his first time in the PalaEvangelisti as an opponent, after playing the last two seasons in Perugia and reaching the hearts of all black-and-white supporters.

For Sir Safety Conad Perugia it’s vital to achieve the points at stake this Sunday, both for ranking (since Civitanova and Modena will be facing each other) and also to start out a crucial month for the black-and-white season in the best possible way.
