“MAMBA” BIRARELLI: «WE WILL SUFFER A LOT IN LATINA, OUR MIND ONLY ON THE COURT!»

Perugia (PG) - The Block Devils only have two days left until the next championship match. On Sunday they will be playing the last match of the first leg against Ninfa, in Latina. The black-and-white middle blocker says:«We are certainly coming from an odd week. Changing coach always creates a bit of disorder, mostly in everyday work than for the match. So we have to work well, without thinking too much about what happened, go to Latina and try to bring home these three points from a difficult court and against a balanced and well built team».

PERUGIA – A new SuperLega weekend starts today for Sir Safety Conad Perugia.

In the PalaEvangelisti, the Block Devils are getting ready for the last effort of the first leg. Captain Buti and his teammates will be playing in the PalaBianchini, in Latina, on Sunday.

It will be an important round in this championship, since it will determine the pairings of the quarter finals of Del Monte Coppa Italia SuperLega. Right now Sir is fifth, but it can aim for the third place in the rankings.

Despite the “odd” week, everyone is working hard in the black-and-white headquarters, with their mind focused only on the match. Fromm is uncertain, since he’s still recovering from his ankle injury, but the rest of the Block Devils are all available for vice coach Fontana and the rest of the technical staff. They are all at work to carefully prepare for this match under a technical-tactical point of view.

One of the most experienced players in the group, Emanuele “Mamba” Birarelli, with just two days left before the match in Latina, says:

«We are certainly coming from an odd week», says Sir Safety Conad Perugia’s middle blocker. «Changing coach always creates a bit of disorder, more in the everyday work than for the match. So we have to work well, without thinking too much about what happened, go to Latina and try to bring home these three points. We have a chance to end the first leg in a good position. It doesn’t depend exclusively on us, it’s obvious, but we have to do our part by concentrating only on the field and baring in mind our potentiality».

Birarelli also warns his teammates about the dangers this match in the PalaBianchini can hide:

«I can’t remember any easy victory in Latina during my carrier. It’s a difficult field against a team that, with Sottile’s return, has increased its ambitions. We have to get ready for a difficult competition, we will suffer a lot, we have to be calm and solid, we will need our best volleyball».
