BIG MATCH IN THE AIR! 48 HOURS LEFT TO THE GREAT COMPETITION AGAINST TRENTO!

Perugia (PG) - The Block Devils are working quickly in the PalaEvangelisti, in view of Sunday’s match against the defending Italian Champions of Trento, coached by Stoytchev. Captain “Cannibal” Buti says: «Compared to the first match of the championship, we have two more weeks on our shoulders. We are getting to know each other better, we are improving in harmony and certainly we will get there a bit more prepared to play our cards».

PERUGIA – Things are getting tense in town and especially in the PalaEvangelisti, in view of Sunday’s big match. Castellani’s Sir Safety Conad Perugia will be facing Diatec Trentino, defending Italian champions, coached by Stoytchev.

It’s the third match of SuperLega, a battle between two groups with many champions, a competition between two teams that can incite all volleyball supporters. These are just some of the ingredients of the match that will send on the court 21 players, members of their own national teams!

In an athletic Perugia, the presale is going well and the sports facility, in Pian di Massiano, will probably be all dressed up for the occasion. The Sir Maniacs are already psyched up and ready to start their usual show on the terraces. RaiSport will be handling the live broadcasting of the match. Considering the big match and the other events going on in Pian di Massiano this Sunday, the club suggests buying tickets in advance to avoid queues at the ticket office, which will open at 1.30 PM on Sunday.

The black-and-white are waiting for this day and Castellani and his guys are on the move to prepare for the match. The Argentinean coach is encouraged by the two victories in a row, first in Milan and then in Cev Cup against Karlovarsko. He is now insisting on some technical details with the team that has shown some signs of growth and great margins of improvement.

The Block Devils are certainly not lacking will and concentration, since they are aware of the importance of what is at stake.

Simone Buti, one of the experts of president Sirci’s group and Sir Safety Conad Perugia’s team captain, presents Sunday’s match against Trento:

«It will be a beautiful Sunday, we are playing against the Italian champions and it’s always something unique. We are expecting to see many of our supporters on the terraces, we are hoping to play a great game and bring home the points. Compared to the first match of the championship, we have two more weeks on our shoulders. We are getting to know each other better, we are improving in harmony and certainly we will get there a bit more prepared to play our cards against an opponent that is proving to be more and more important and strong in all areas, despite the some changes in the team. It’s a difficult match, we’ll have to look out».

“Cannibal”, also captain of the Italian national team, jokes about the numerous national team members he will be playing against (Giannelli, Lanza, Colaci, Antonov):

«When we’re away with the national team I’m usually in a room with Pippo (Lanza)… So as a good captain of the national team, I will tell the guys from Trento to be good on Sunday!».

The countdown to Sunday has officially started!
