TWO DAYS LEFT UNTIL THE MATCH AGAINST MOLFETTA. FRANCESCHINI AND TZIOUMAKAS WARN THE BLOCK DEVILS

Perugia (PG) -  Sunday’s match against Barone’s Exprivia is getting closer. It’s one of most fit teams in SuperLega and they are coming from a victory against Trento. “Phantom” and “X-Men” say in unison: «Difficult and strong opponent, but we want the three points to end the perfect week» –

PERUGIA – Another SuperLega weekend is about to start for Sir Safety Conad Perugia!

Just two days left until Sunday’s match on the home field against Exprivia Molfetta. It’s the third championship game in a week for the Block Devils and they have the chance to win three in a row, after the victories against Padova and Monza.

The black-and-whites are working hard and with dedication in the PalaEvangelisti, under the vigilant eyes of coach Castellani and his staff. The goal is to reach the best condition by Sunday to face the Pugliese team. The latter is certainly one of the most fit ones in SuperLega and they are coming from the victory against Trento two days ago.

It’s a stumbling block for captain Buti and his teammates, but they need to win in order to keep the third place in ranking and keep Molfetta behind, since they only have two points less than Perugia.

Besides the technical and tactical elements, the mental state will count a lot the day after tomorrow in the PalaEvangelisti. Alessandro Franceschini, black-and-white middle blocker, explains the situation:

«Molfetta is an opponent to be feared», says “Phantom”. «I think that this match will be played a lot on serves, since they have a great jump servers, like the two Cubans Hierrezuelo and Hernandez or Ranzazzo. It won’t be easy with the Pugliese since they also have a good game in the middle with Barone (former Perugia player) and Candellaro. On our side, we are getting to the match with a few little problems but overall in a good condition, but mostly in the right frame of mind and with will to play and win. Daniel (Ed. Castellani) at the beginning of the week talked about an important cycle during which, if you want to nurture big goals, we have to try to reach the top with all of our strength and certainly it would be great to end the week with 9 points, both for the team’s spirits and also in view of an important and demanding month like December».

The Argentinean coach also knows that against Molfetta he can count on a close group and this gives him more options even after the match has started. One of these is the Greek opposite Georgios Tzioumakas, which Castellani has already used profitably more than once. “X-Men” also warns Perugia about the hidden dangers they will be facing on Sunday:

«Sunday we will have a really difficult opponent in front of us. Molfetta is playing well; they proved it even Wednesday by winning 3-0 against Trento, so we will have to play close attention and concentrate, put on the field our best volleyball and try to get the three points that would be vital for our ranking and that would allow us to end this championship week in the best way».
