- Scocca di nuovo l’ora della Champions per i ragazzi di Grbic che ospitano domani sera a partire dalle ore 20:30 i polacchi per il match d’andata dei Playoffs 6, anticamera dell’atto conclusivo della manifestazione in programma a fine mese a Berlino. Attesa spasmodica in città e prevista grande affluenza di pubblico sulle gradinate del PalaEvangelisti per il “Match of the Week” contro la corazzata di coach Falasca -
La porta dei sogni! A tanto è arrivata la Sir Safety Credito Cooperativo Umbro Perugia!È tutto pronto al PalaEvangelisti per la grande sfida di domani sera tra i Block Devils del presidente Sirci ed il PGE Skra Belchatow, match di andata dei Playoff 6 della CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League.
Sono rimaste le migliori in campo europeo e tutte con un grande, grandissimo obiettivo: la Final Four di Berlino in programma a fine marzo. Obiettivo che davvero ha le sembianze di un sogno per capitan Vujevic e compagni, ultimo baluardo del volley italiano che cerca di aggiungere un’altra gemma, la più splendente, in questa già meravigliosa avventura europea.
Si parte per il primo incontro del doppio confronto con il Belchatow domani sera quando, alle ore 20:30, l’olandese Van Gompel e lo sloveno Gril daranno il fischio d’inizio in un PalaEvangelisti sarà una bolgia!
È gara di assoluto cartello tra i vice campioni d’Italia ed i campioni di Polonia in carica nonché gara designata dalla Cev “Match of the Week”, con diretta radiofonica nella zona di Perugia su Umbria Radio, partner della Sir, a cura di Francesco Locatelli (frequenze a Perugia 92.0 e 97.2) e differita nazionale su Fox Sport 2 a partire dalle ore 22:30 con il commento di Stefano Locatelli e Andrea Zorzi.
Ma lo spettacolo, quello vero, sarà a Pian di Massiano! I Sirmaniaci e tutto il popolo bianconero sono in fermento (prevendita a vele spiegate, sarà un palasport gremito) e sognano di vivere insieme alla squadra un’altra notte speciale.
Lontano dall’attesa dell’ambiente, si è preparata con grande meticolosità la formazione di Nikola Grbic in questi giorni, all’indomani della vittoria di sabato sera in SuperLega contro Piacenza. Si è preparata con grande tranquillità e con il morale alto, grazie al buon periodo che sta attraversando come gioco e come risultati. Si è preparata conscia anche della grande caratura tecnica dell’avversario che si troverà dall’altra parte della rete, capace di eliminare nel turno precedente i campioni d’Italia della Lube.
Insomma, sarà una notte da vivere e da gustare tutti insieme, come solo il grande volley è in grado di offrire!
È il primo dei due confronti in programma e come tale va vista la sfida tra Sir e Belchatow. Sarà quindi battaglia tattica tra due tecnici ex registi come Grbic e Falasca. Sarà battaglia tecnica con il servizio arma sempre determinante. Sara anche gara di nervi ovviamente, vista l’importanza della posta in palio. E se certamente il Belchatow è compagine di rango in campo internazionale super abituata a match di questa importanza, Perugia giocherà sulle ali dell’entusiasmo della debuttante che finora ha stupito e che vuole continuare a stupire.
Non ci dovrebbero essere cambiamenti nel sestetto che Grbic manderà in campo al via. Il tecnico serbo dispone di tutta la rosa e dovrebbe presentare inizialmente il consueto sestetto tipo con il “Boss” De Cecco e “Magnum” Atanasijevic diagonale di posto due, “Cannibal” e “Top Gun”, alias Buti e Beretta, coppia di centrali, capitan “Lupo” Vujevic e “Panzer” Fromm a ricevere e schiacciare e la “Belva” Giovi a presidiare la seconda linea.
Ha l’imbarazzo della scelta, passando ai polacchi, coach Falasca, a capo di un roster di assoluto livello e super competitivo in tutti i suoi effettivi. Ma al via dovremmo vedere in campo l’argentino Uriarte (che “derby” con De cecco!) in cabina di regia, il campione del mondo polacco Wlazly opposto, il serbo Lisinak e l’altro campione del mondo Klos al centro, Facundo Conte (argentino pure lui) e probabilmente il francese Marechal in banda (con il terzo iridato Winiarski, campione di fama internazionale, pronto dalla panchina) e il tedesco Tille nel ruolo di libero.
Gioco vario e supersonico impostato da Uriarte, correlazione muro-difesa da paura (con Tille funambolo della seconda linea), attaccanti tutti in grado di giocare più colpi, battuta pericolosissima. Queste le armi principali del Belchatow.
Ma i Block Devils non hanno paura, rispetto sì, ma non paura. E sono pronti a giocarsi tutte le loro carte. Perché in fondo alla via c’è un paradiso (con la minuscola) del volley: la Final Four di Berlino!

Only the best teams in Europe are left in the competition and they all share the same great, remarkable goal: the Final Four in Berlin, scheduled for the end of March. This goal really does seem like a dream for Captain Vujevic and his teammates. They are the last defence of Italian volleyball, competing to add another gem, the shiniest, to this already marvellous European adventure.
The first game of the double match against Belchatow will start tomorrow evening at 8.30 PM. The Dutch referee Van Gompel and the Slovenian Gril, will sanction the beginning of the game, with a PalaEvangelisti that will go crazy at the starting whistle!
It’s the first of the two planned confrontations against Belchatow. This means that it will be a technical battle between two coaches that are former leading players, like Grbic and Falasca. It will be a technical battle, in which service will be as always a crucial weapon. It will also be, of course, a battle of nerves, considering the importance of the odds at stake. And even though Belchatow is a team of high calibre in the international field, used to matches at this level, Perugia will play on the wings of the debutante’s enthusiasm that has surprised everyone and has the will to keep surprising.
There should not be any changes in the starting six that Grbic will send on the field at the beginning. The Serbian coach has all candidates available and he will probably send in at first the “usual” six with the “Boss” De Cecco and “Magnum” Atanasijevic, diagonal in area 2; Buti and Beretta, AKA “Cannibal” and “Top Gun”, as middle blockers, Captain “Lupo” Vujevic and “Panzer” Fromm to receive and spike and with “Belva” Giovi covering the second row.
Coach Falasca is spoilt for choice: he’s at the head of a roster of an absolutely high level and super competitive with all of his players. At the start we will probably see on the field the Argentinean Uriarte (what a “derby” with De Cecco), directing their play; the Polish champion Wlazy opposite, Serbian Lisinak and Klos, the other world champion, in the middle, Facundo Conte, also Argentinean, and probably French Marechal outside hitters (with the third international champion Winiarski ready on the bench) and Tille, German, as libero.
Uriarte will set a varying and supersonic play, with a wicked association of block and defence. Tille will be like a tightrope walker from the second row and all attackers are capable of playing more than one hit. Their service is also dangerous. These are the main weapons in Belchatow’s hands.
The Block Devils respect their opponents, but they are not afraid of them. And they are ready to play all their cards. At the end of the path there is a volleyball heaven: the Final Four in Berlin!
