Nonostante la sconfitta con Trento, il presidente Sirci ha voluto premiare il centrale bianconero per la prestazione super in gara 3. Cominciano le partenze dei ragazzi da Perugia con molti di loro attesi dalle rispettive nazionali
Contravvenendo alle solite abitudini, la serata conclusiva della stagione, domenica scorsa, è stata anche l’occasione per eleggere l’ultimo Man of the Match del 2014-2015 in casa Sir Safety Credito Cooperativo Umbro Perugia.
Nonostante la sconfitta subita il gara 3 a Trento, il presidente Sirci ha voluto lo stesso eleggere il “migliore” della squadra, protagonista tutta di una prova di altissimo livello che ha portato Perugia ha sfiorare davvero la finale scudetto.
E tra gli artefici della grande gara della Sir, un posto in primo piano lo ha meritato certamente Rocco Barone. “Veleno”, uno dei beniamini dei tifosi bianconeri, si è fatto trovare pronto alla chiamata di Grbic chiudendo la sua prestazione personale con 17 punti a referto, frutto di 10 attacchi vincenti (53% con zero errori e zero murate subite), 2 ace e 5 muri vincenti. Senza dimenticare la carica agonistica e l’entusiasmo riversati in campo a beneficio dei compagni. Per questo il presidente Sirci ha deciso di premiare il centrale di Palmi con l’ultimo Man of the Match stagionale. Diverso dal solito, anche nella location (non quella abituale dello spogliatoio bianconero), ma non per questo meno importante e gradito!

Sarà questa una settimana di partenze per molti dei giocatori e per parte dello staff tecnico di Perugia. Terminati gli impegni con la squadra, i Block Devils faranno ritorno nelle loro sedi per il periodo estivo. Un periodo di vacanza breve per gli otto atleti bianconeri che hanno ricevuto la convocazione con la propria nazionale. Si tratta degli azzurri Giovi, Buti, Beretta e Paolucci, del serbo Atanasijevic, del tedesco Fromm, dell’argentino De Cecco e del greco Tzioumakas. Tutti risponderanno alla chiamata con il team del proprio Paese in vista dei vari impegni internazionali in programma. Senza dimenticare poi anche Nikola Grbic, pure lui atteso, nelle vesti di coach, alla guida della Serbia. Vacanze più lunghe invece, dopo una stagione lunghissima e piena di impegni ufficiali, per i vari Barone, Maruotti, Fanuli, Vujevic e Sunder.
THE LAST “MAN OF THE MATCH” GOES TO ROCCO BARONE!
PERUGIA – The final evening of the season was held last Sunday and, though breaking the habit, it was also the chance to elect the last “Man of the Match” for Sir Safety Credito Cooperativo Umbro Perugia for season 2014-2015.
Despite the loss in match 3 in Trento, president Sirci wanted to elect anyway the “best” of the team, which was entirely protagonist of a performance of an extremely high level, which brought Perugia very close to the final.
Among the authors of Sir’s great game, Rocco Barone certainly deserved a spot right in the foreground. “Veleno”, one of the favourites of the black-and-white supporters, was ready when Grbic called him. He ended his personal performance with 17 points, result of 10 winning attacks (53% with mistakes and zero blocks endured), 2 aces and 5 winning blocks. This without forgetting the agonistic tension and enthusiasm he brought on the field, helping his teammates. For these reasons, president Sirci decided to reward the middle blocker from Palmi with the last “Man of the Match” of the season. It was different from usual, even in the location (not the usual black-and-white locker room), but not less important or well-accepted!
THE DEPARTURES OF THE BLOCK DEVILS ARE STARTING. THE NATIONAL TEAMS ARE WAITING FOR EIGHT OF THEM, PLUS GRBIC!Many players, and part of Perugia’s technical staff, will be leaving this week. After their commitments with the team, the Block Devils will go back to their domiciles for the summer. A brief vacation for eight black-and-white athletes that were summoned by their national teams. The Italian athletes Giovi, Buti, Beretta and Paolucci, Serbian Atanasijevic, Fromm for Germany, De Cecco for Argentina and Tzioumakas for Greece. They will all be with the team of their respective countries in view of the several international commitments scheduled. Nikola Grbic, acting as coach, is also awaited for to lead Serbia. The vacation will instead be longer for Barone, Maruotti, Fanuli, Vujevic and Sunder after an extremely long season, full of official engagements.
